The grandest of the Iowa gambling halls is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, an Indian gambling den in Tama, with 127,669 square feet of casino area, 1,500 slots, 30 table games, such as blackjack, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and several styles of poker; also three restaurants, biweekly shows, and gambling lessons. One more large Native American gambling hall is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 sq.ft., 668 slots, and fourteen table games. Also, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs is available 24 hours, with 38,500 sq.ft., 1,589 slot machines, 36 table games, and four dining rooms. There are numerous other popular Iowa casinos, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 square feet, 1,212 one armed bandits, and 39 table games.
A smaller Iowa gambling hall is the Diamond Jo, a river based gambling den in Dubuque, with 17,813 sq.ft., 776 slot machines, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend Riverboat, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 square feet, 535 slots, and 14 table games. Another Iowa water based casino, The Isle of Capri, is open 24 hours, with 24,939 sq.ft., 1,100 slot machines, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 sq.ft. river boat casino in Clinton, has 506 slot machines, 14 table games, live shows, and Thursday 21 matches.
Iowa casinos provide a great amount of tax money to the commonwealth of Iowa, which has allowed the funding of a lot of commonwealth wide projects. Vacationers have increased at an accelerated rate along with the request for services and a growth in employment. Iowa casinos have contributed to the advancement of the economy, and the excitement for gambling in Iowa is absolute.
