In addition, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs is open 24 hours, with 38,500 square feet, 1,589 one armed bandits, 36 table games, and four dining rooms. There are several other dominant Iowa gambling halls, which includes Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 sq.ft., 1,212 one armed bandits, and 39 table games.
A smaller Iowa gambling den is the Diamond Jo, a river boat casino in Dubuque, with 17,813 sq.ft., 776 one armed bandits, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend river boat, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 square feet, 535 one armed bandits, and 14 table games. One more Iowa water based casino, The Isle of Capri, is open 24 hours, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 slot machines, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 square foot river based casino in Clinton, has 506 slot machines, 14 table games, live productions, and Thursday chemin de fer events.
Iowa casinos offer a great deal of tax revenue to the government of Iowa, which has enabled the bankrolling of many state wide projects. Visitors have grown at a fast rate along with the requirement for companies and an increase in jobs. Iowa gambling halls have contributed to the advancement of the economy, and the excitement for gambling in Iowa is across the board.
