Cambodia Casinos

There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling hall wagering is not legal. Eight casinos are based in a relatively tiny space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in a prime area, a 3 to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai laborers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing capital acquired from the gambling halls ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a number of restrictions requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; although, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and even though visas are apparently needed to cross, there are ways around this, as is correct of most borders.
The original Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked ship gambling den, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machines and 60 gaming tables. The Naga casino never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The first casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly followed. A total of one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machine games and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machines and sixty six of the familiar gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a comprehensive vacation and hotel complex that highlights a number of conveniences on top of the casino, which houses ten thousand square feet of 130 slot machines and eighty eight tables.
